Electra Moscato Rosé
Electra Moscato Rosé is the latest, exciting new addition to Quady’s rapidly growing premium moscato brand, Electra.
Compared to other moscatos, the Electras are more aromatic, crisp and refreshing. Whereas most moscatos are made from Muscat of Alexandria, Electra Moscato Rosé is made using only premium muscat varities: Orange Muscat, Black Muscat and Muscat Canelli. These varieties are more difficult to grow and have smaller yields, but their aromas and flavors are more refined.
To make Electra Moscato Rosé, free run juice is fermented for more than a month at low temperature after which it is chilled, sterile filtered, and bottled. This process preserves its delicate flavors and slight fizz. Its beautifully vibrant coral pink hue comes from rosé of Black Muscat, which is captured during the early stages of crush.
Electra Moscato Rosé’s sisters, Electra Moscato and Red Electra Moscato, have become international favorites for moscato drinkers around the world. Electra’s delicately sweet and playful style is truly unique within the category. Paired with the delightfully crisp flavors and aromas found from rosé, Electra Moscato Rosé is sure to delight moscato drinkers everywhere with the marrying of sweet and pink.
2016 Reserva, Douro, Douro Valley
Intense and concentrated, with fine tannic structure, it is distinguished by its delicacy, a characteristic of the Quinta do Noval style. It is the product of a strict selection from the best lots produced by our property in any given year, a blend of several classic Douro varietals. This wine is delicious when young and will also mature well in a cellar. This wine presents a dark, dense and opaque color. The nose is enhanced by intense black and red fruits and wild spicy aromas. It reveals mineral hints, with well-integrated barrel notes of dark chocolate. Very good tannins and finesse.
“The 2016 Reserva, was aged for ten months in French oak of varying ages (only 35% new. A bit richer than the 2015 while maintaining the same tannic structure and fresh feel, this is also nicely textured with a wave of velvet up front. It maintains sophisticated and gorgeous mid-palate finesse too. This has the potential to be special, one of the best I've seen in the brand, if not the best table wine from Noval. It is worth leaning up on this beauty's evaluation just now, but take note—that is for unrealized potential, and this was only in bottle for about two weeks when seen. It should age very well, by the way, but let's start here. At some point, it will need reevaluation.” – 95 Points, Wine Advocate
2016 Cedro do Noval, Vinho Regional Duriense
Named after the emblematic cedar tree that dominates Quinta do Noval’s terrace, Cedro is an authentic expression of the Douro. Principally made up of Portuguese varieties, it also contains Syrah, which rounds out the fruit and gives the wine tremendous charm and accessibility. Cedro do Noval Tinto 2016 has a dense and opulent red color. The nose reveals spicy aroma, followed by chewy flavors of chocolate, and dark plum. A firm acidity on the palate, slightly smoky finish which enhances the purity and the freshness of the fruit.
“Due to the 20% Syrah in this blend, this entry-level Douro Valley wine is classified as Vinho Regional Duriense. It has friendly, ripe, fleshy plum and berry fruits, showing freshness and with smooth tannins. It offers an elegant introduction to Douro reds, with complexing notes of orange peel, chocolate and toasty oak. It's well made, with Noval's customary French oak polish from 10 months in wood, 12% new. A blend of 60% Touriga Nacional, 20% Syrah, 15% Touriga Franca, 4% Tinto Cão and 1% Donzelhino Tinto.” – 90 Points, Decanter
2017 Vintage Port
The Warre’s 2017 Vintage Port is made up of the finest parcels from Warre’s three Douro vineyards, Cavadinha, Retiro and Telhada, and the privately (family) owned Alvito & Netas properties. The field blends from Cavadinha and Retiro provide the principal structure with a combined contribution of 63%. The combination of old field blend vines and very low yields gives the Warre’s 2017 Vintage Port extraordinary complexity and subtlety, alongside the concentration and power which are hallmarks of the year.
2017 Petite Syrah
Vinification: The fruit for this Petite Sirah was sourced from multiple vineyards on the west side of Paso Robles. Picked as they reached optimal ripeness the grapes were hand harvested and carefully destemmed. The resulting musts were fermented to dryness and softly pressed before being aged for 18 months in a combination of 25% new French and Hungarian.
Tasting Notes: Bright magenta in color. Smells of coffee grounds, cedar, leather, tar and asphalt after a fresh rain. Blackberries, blueberries, black cherries and currants compete with hints of orange peel, anise, plum, red-delicious apples, and vanilla bean. Acid driven, this wine has a lengthy, spicy finish that shows generous amounts of nutmeg and cinnamon.
